About Our Team

Maple Route Immigration is run by a small team of researchers and writers with a deep interest in Canadian immigration policy. Our team members have direct personal experience navigating Canadian immigration processes — including Express Entry, study permits, work permits, and PRRA — which informs the practical, user-first perspective we bring to every guide.

We are not immigration professionals. What we are is deeply familiar with the IRCC system, dedicated to accuracy, and committed to making immigration information genuinely accessible.

Fact-Checking & Policy Monitoring

Our research team monitors IRCC updates, ministerial instructions, Express Entry draw announcements, and PNP stream changes. When policy changes occur, they flag affected content for immediate review and update. All factual claims are verified against primary government sources before and after publication.

Our Approach to Expertise

Because we are not licensed immigration professionals, we approach every topic with specific discipline:

  • We explain what official IRCC sources say — we do not interpret law or policy beyond what IRCC itself has stated
  • We clearly distinguish between general patterns (e.g., "most applicants are asked for...") and official requirements (e.g., "IRCC requires...")
  • We flag situations where professional advice is strongly recommended — particularly for inadmissibility, refugee claims, appeals, and complex family situations
  • We do not answer individual immigration questions or assess specific cases

Expert Review

For complex legal and procedural topics — particularly those involving inadmissibility, the Immigration and Refugee Board, and judicial review — we review content against published decisions, procedural guidelines, and publicly available legal analysis to ensure accuracy before publication.

We are always open to feedback from licensed RCICs and immigration lawyers who identify areas where our content could be more accurate or complete. Please use our contact page if you have professional expertise to share.
