Editorial Policy

How we create, review, and maintain content at Maple Route Immigration.

✓ Last reviewed: May 2026

Our Editorial Mission

Maple Route Immigration publishes free educational content about Canadian immigration pathways. Every article, guide, and tool on this website is created with a single purpose: to help individuals, families, and workers understand their options in plain language — without the confusion of government jargon or the cost of a preliminary consultation.

We are not immigration lawyers, consultants, or licensed advisors. We do not provide legal advice, immigration assessments, or application review services. All content is for general informational and educational purposes only.

Content Standards

Accuracy First

All factual claims in our content must be traceable to a primary source — typically official IRCC publications, Government of Canada policy documents, or legislative acts. We do not publish speculation as fact. When IRCC policy is evolving or uncertain, we say so explicitly.

Plain Language

We write for real people, not immigration professionals. We translate complex regulatory language into accessible explanations, define technical terms when we use them, and avoid unnecessary jargon.

Balanced Presentation

Where immigration outcomes vary by circumstance — such as refusal rates, processing times, or eligibility edge cases — we present the full picture rather than the most optimistic scenario. We do not cherry-pick statistics to mislead readers.

Transparency About Limitations

Every guide and tool page carries a clear disclaimer that the content is for educational purposes only and does not substitute for professional advice. We actively direct readers to licensed RCICs and immigration lawyers for case-specific guidance.

Content Review Process

  1. Research phase: All guides begin with a review of current IRCC operational instructions, program manuals, and official government publications.
  2. Drafting: Content is written to reflect current policy as of the stated "last reviewed" date.
  3. Internal review: Before publication, each guide is reviewed for factual accuracy, clarity, and appropriate disclaimers.
  4. Monitoring: We monitor IRCC news releases and policy updates. When significant changes occur, affected pages are flagged for update.
  5. Re-review cycle: All major guides are reviewed and updated at least every 6 months, or immediately when material policy changes occur.

Advertising & Independence

Maple Route Immigration displays contextual advertising through Google AdSense to cover operating costs. Advertisers have no influence over editorial decisions, content coverage, or factual claims. We do not publish sponsored articles or paid immigration content of any kind.

We do not earn referral fees or commissions from immigration law firms, consultancy firms, or visa service providers. Our RCIC and lawyer referral links go exclusively to the official College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants directory — a non-commercial government-designated body.

Corrections Policy

If you believe any content on this site contains a factual error, please contact us with the page URL and the specific inaccuracy. We review all submissions and publish corrections promptly when errors are confirmed.

Corrections are noted in the page's "Last reviewed" date and, for material errors, noted in the text itself.

â„šī¸ Important: This editorial policy applies to all content published on maplerouteimmigration.ca. Nothing on this website is legal advice. For professional guidance on your specific immigration situation, consult a licensed RCIC at college-ic.ca/find-a-member.
